Si l’on met de côté le développement très appréciable du sujet LGBTQ+, ce roman demeure une dystopie somme toute très classique qui n’apporte pas réellement de fraîcheur au genre.
Non, l’intrigue ne m’a pas passionné, j’ai même été lassé très rapidement. Malgré les personnages attachants, j’ai eu du mal à aller jusqu’au bout. Vraiment. Et cela me peine quelque peu car j’aurais aimé ne pas avoir cet arrière-goût de « déjà-vu » malgré les points d’originalité de ce roman.
Alors oui, je l’ai aimé parce qu’il met en avant une communauté décriée et malmenée, et j’espère que de plus en plus d’auteurs oseront nous livrer de tels personnages, sans tabous, sans crainte de repousser des lecteurs potentiels.
Mais mis à part ça... même le style de l’auteure ne m’a pas paru exceptionnel au point de me faire revoir ma note à la hausse.
