Le nouvel employé contrarie Reese, qui le trouve irréfléchi et colérique. Peut-être n'aurait-il pas dû se montrer clément, mais Jay lui rappelle son frère d'arme, un homme auquel il tenait énormément et qu'il a perdu dans des circonstances tragiques. Il espère juste ne pas le regretter.

Quand un accident au travail déclenche une crise liée au SSPT de Reese, Jay paie sa dette en étant là pour lui, puis refuse de lâcher son patron lorsque celui-ci décide d'oublier ce qu'il s'est passé. Reese a beau essayer de garder ses distances, il y a une flamme - une passion - entre eux à laquelle il ne peut pas résister. Une passion qui les mène constamment dans la chambre à coucher. Pourtant, il se rend rapidement compte qu'ils ont allumé plus que les étincelles qu'ils créent entre les draps et que sous l'apparente dureté de Jay se cache une âme tout aussi torturée et blessée que la sienne.

Les deux hommes s'attachent, les liens se tissent, mais Reese sait bien que la tempête menace au fond de son esprit.

Entre les draps est un tome unique sans infidélité, sans cliffhanger et avec un beau happy end.
