With food in his stomach, Ty took a moment to look around. "This your house?"
Ethan nodded. "Yeah, been on this land for pretty much my whole life."
Ty looked more closely at the room, realizing there was nothing modern in it whatsoever. The fireplace was the only source of light, without any hint of a lightbulb or lamp anywhere else in the room. Although he couldn't see the entire space, he didn't spot any outlets either.
"Do you...just live in a cabin in the woods?" Ty asked.
Ethan chuckled. "Yeah, kinda the same as the last answer, been that way pretty much my whole life."
Ty grunted, not sure what to say to that. While he might not have grown up with all the amenities in life, he had at least had heating and electricity in most of the homes he'd stayed at. He couldn't imagine living without so much as a generator this far out in the woods in the middle of winter.
"So, you live out in the middle of the woods without any electricity, heat, or company?" Ty finally asked.
Ethan chuckled, pointing toward the fireplace. "Plenty of heat comes out of that, and I've got another one in the kitchen for cooking and heat. If I want light, I've got plenty of candles I can use at night, and I don't need anything like that during the day. I do alright."
As a creature who lived and breathed in the twenty-first century, Ty couldn't quite share the same laid-back attitude.
