Je pouvais lire dans son regard que par "certaines choses", il entendait moi.

"We're fine for now," he said. "I'm waiting for my sister to come back."
"I'm not a waitress," I said. "It's me."
"I'm sorry?"

Stephen was sitting in his police uniform sweater, the dark material matching in his hair. He was facing the back of the restaurant and was watchful, like he was waiting for something or someone to emerge from a door in the back.
"Stephen?" I said, but I didn't say it very loudly. The quiet of the place was too overwhelming. I felt like if I called out, the walls might come down. He didn't look over.

"Sérieusement."
"Et bien... Quand je vous ai vu ensemble, la façon dont vous agissiez m'a donnée cette impression. A chaque fois que tu t'éloignais, il te regardait pour s'assurer que tu rentrais chez toi saine et sauve. Il avait l'air de tenir à toi."
