Honestly, there is so much happening in this book (in a good way) that it’s probably best if I keep this review short.

First of all, this book was action packed, you cannot get bored while reading this in my opinion. And I love the way SJM creates action and the scenes are so epic! Scheming Aelin is the best. I just love her so much.

A second thing that was already present in the Heir of fire, but that is also constant in this series is the amazing character development. I mean Celaena is obviously not the same, but just from one book to the other Rowan has changed so much as well.

The dynamic between Aelin and Rowan in this book is just everything I love about SJM. She creates the best couples and the best relationships, I love them so much, they are perfect for each other. SJM always manages the perfect mix of the couple between sweet to each other, to them being snarky and funny and then them being sexy and flirty. (Can you tell SJM is one of my favorite authors??)

But this book isn’t all fun and sweet. I mean every time a chapter about Dorian came, my heart squeezed for him! I said it before, but he is a cinnamon roll and needs to be protected at all costs! (Also, he needs a special witch in his life… Just saying).

Speaking of witches, I love Manon but in this book I wanted to shake her at times because I had completely forgotten how much she dismisses Asterin. But then it allowed their relationship to be properly developed in this book, so I still love her as much as before.

But that is not all, Queen of Shadows also introduces new characters, and especially two that I love so much: Lysandra and Elide. Both add so much to the story (it might seem like it right away, but it is the case in my opinion) and I love reading about them.

So, this review was not short and yet, I feel like I only scraped the surface of all the good things I could say about this book ...
