Histoire un peu différente des autres car cela commence dans une grotte souterraine, avec l'histoire d'une petite fille prisonnière de son grand-père et de son père. Ils s'abreuveront de son sang durant de longues années, mais elle réussira à s'échapper grâce à l'aide de deux de ses tantes, prisonnières comme elle. Adulte, elle deviendra experte dans les grottes du monde des glaces et reviendra sur les lieux de son enfance malheureuse. Avant qu'il ne décide de mourir au-devant de la lumière du jour pour ne pas devenir vampire, un Carpatien va la reconnaître comme son Ame soeur et cela va changer leurs vies à tous les deux...
