Le SD-6 lui a donné tout cela, et bien plus encore. Une famille, un but, une raison de vivre. Mais tout ce qui est précieux à un prix. Et c'est ainsi que tout commence

C'est la première mission de Sydney Bristow pour le SD-6- à Paris. Sa première identité d'emprunt. Son premier vrai ennemi. Son premier vrai combat. Et sa première grosse erreur. Beaucoup de premières fois pour Sydney, mais pas de seconde chance...

Un château en ruine au milieu de nulle part. Une réunion au sommet, rassemblant les représentants des plus grandes organisations criminelles. Du sang qui coule à flots. Et Sydney, l'apprentie espionne du SD-6, livrée à elle-même, pour sa première opération solo. Elle est venue chercher des renseignements, elle n'y a trouvé que des ennuis. Maintenant, la seule chose qui compte, c'est de rester en vie...

Jen Williams était membre de la confrérie Alpha Kappa Khi. Elle faisait aussi partie des agents recrutés par le SD-6. Mais tout cela, c'était avant qu'elle ne décède de "causes naturelles". Sydney est déterminée à infiltrer l'AKK, pour reprendre à son compte la mission hawaïenne de Jen. Et à découvrir ce qui est réellement arrivé à sa soeur de sang. Avant que cela ne lui arrive à elle.

A sa mort, le père de Michel Vaughn a légué à son fils un bien curieux héritage : l'attrait pour un monde où le mensonge est nécessaire, voire vital. Le goût des exploits dangereux. Et l'opportunité de pouvoir changer la face du monde. Michael est maintenant prêt à devenir un agent de la CIA, et disposé à faire tout son possible pour honorer la mémoire de son père. Mais servie son pays est une tâche bien plus ardue que ce qu'il a pu imaginer. Et sa vie est sur le point de changer pour toujours...

Etre chargé de la protection de Marianna, la fille du président italien n'est pas vraiment le genre de mission à laquelle Michael Vaughn s'attendait. Récemment promu officier à la CIA, il n'a aucunement l'intention de jouer au baby-sitter. Et qu'il existe un complot fomentant l'assassinat du président, ou que la fille de celui-ci soit incroyablement belle, tout cela ne change rien à l'affaire... Les meurtriers, eux, ne sont pas là pour s'amuser.

Rien ne va plus pour Sidney... Entre sa vie sociale en friche, ses études qui patinent, et la nouvelle mission sont le SD-6 l'a chargée, elle ne risque pas de s'ennuyer. Et comme si ça ne suffisait pas, son père est en transit dans le coin, et réclame un peu de son temps. Mais ce qu'elle ne sait pas encore, c'est que de son côté, lui aussi a un agenda secret à tenir...

Sidney a enfin trouvé une oreille compatissante et fiable en la personne de Stéphanie, un agent du SD-2. La jeune femme sait elle aussi à quel point mentir à ceux qu'on aime peut être douloureux. Mais peut-on tout exiger au nom de l'amitié ? Lorsque Stéphanie présente son étrange requête, Sidney réalise à nouveau que les apparences peuvent être bien trompeuses...

Elle est jeune, elle est belle, et elle parle le Russe aussi bien que sa langue maternelle. Sydney est la candidate idéale pour infiltrer discrètement l'organisation K-Directorate. Une mission de sabotage qui s'apparente à de la haute voltige, où le moindre faux pas peut s'avérer fatal...
