Onze ans plus tôt, Shane Ventura a fait la plus grosse erreur de sa vie en succombant à la pression exercée par son label pour qu’il vire son meilleur ami, Jesse Seider, de leur groupe. Depuis ce jour, Shane n’a plus jamais désiré personne d’autre, et tout le sexe, tout l’alcool du monde ne peuvent remplir le vide laissé par Jesse. Même la perspective de voir Luck s’acoquiner à Moonlight, le groupe le plus en vogue de Grande Bretagne, pour une gigantesque tournée mondiale ne peut le sortir de sa dépression. Jusqu’à ce qu’il rencontre leur meneur et chanteur, Kayden Berlin, et se voit frappé par le démon du désir. Kayden a beau prétendre qu’il n’est pas intéressé, Shane sait qu’il a lui aussi ressenti l’étincelle entre eux. Et pourtant, plus Shane insiste, plus Kayden se rétracte. Cela semble être son lot habituel : la chance le suit partout sauf en amour.
