“Levi huffed and turned on the saddle, but before he did, a flicker passed across his face, one that did more than hint to Pasha that maybe the cowboy was into guys. He struggled for something to say or ask that wasn’t sarcastic or inappropriate. It was unusual for him to be short of words, though they were rarely the right words.
Ah shit. What was the point? The pair of them hated one another. Well, not hated, not on Pasha’s side. More lust than hate, and apart from that comeback about zombies, Levi had resumed his uptight attitude.
Pasha knew he looked like a total bottom and the preconception irritated the fuck out of him. Yeah, he was more of a bottom than a top—how he hated those terms because of what they implied—but he didn’t like being taken for granted.
It stopped snowing just as the ranch came into view.
“How did you know I’d gone?”
“You weren’t where you were supposed to be.”
“You missed me? Ahhh.”
Levi’s exasperated exhalation made Pasha smile. Time to mend a few bridges.
