Phoebe est autiste. Dans la vie, elle aime promener son chien, lire et écrire des romans de fantasy et surtout, surtout, respecter sa routine.

Pourtant, depuis qu’elle est entrée en seconde, tout lui échappe. La conseillère d’orientation ne comprend pas qu’écrivain est un vrai métier, les garçons du club d’échecs ne sont pas ravis de son arrivée et sa meilleure amie Bethany a un petit ami secret. Autant de turbulences qui viennent bousculer son quotidien.

Mais quand Bethany se retrouve dans la panade, Phoebe va devoir sortir de sa zone de confort et même… enfreindre quelques règles.

When her best (and only) friend rebels and gets a secret boyfriend, Phoebe reluctantly agrees to cover for her. Before long, Phoebe’s dealing with all sorts of things she’d rather not, like deception, fashionable jackets, and the bewildering politics of the school chess club. Breaking the rules has never been Phoebe’s thing, but as events take a seriously unexpected turn, she realises there’s more to her than she ever imagined . . .
