Travaillant dans un magasin de bento, Arata ne peut s'empêcher d'être curieux de connaître Shun, un jeune garçon qui vient régulièrement acheter de la nourriture. Cependant, il cesse d’apparaître d’un seul coup. Un jour, Arata se réveille dans l'autre monde après avoir sauvé un chien de la noyade dans une rivière. Il doit séjourner dans un hôtel avant de décéder – et c'est là qu'il retrouve Shun ! Une histoire d'amour sincère entre un homme léthargique et un simple délinquant qui se déroule dans l'au-delà.
