Thunderhead was a great sequel. I mean the world Neal Shusterman created in this series is just thought provoking and mind-blowing. You cannot read this book and not question our society, but also the numerous topics that are raised in this book.
But that is also why I think this book should be read when in the mood, and my mistake was reading this sequel when all I wanted was to read Christmas romances.
I felt like I didn’t connect to the characters as I did in the first book. When I read Citra’s point of view, I felt like I was discovering her character for the first time and not reading a sequel, which was weird.
Honestly my favourite character from this second book was the Thunderhead, because I felt like it was the most developed character in this book. The others just felt like side characters when in the first book they were the main ones. Now, perhaps the reader is suppose to feel this way on purpose (I mean the title of this book is Thunderhead), but I was sad to not really care about the other characters.
Also, I really enjoyed everything that was happening in this book, but I felt like the pacing was really slow and I didn’t have that feeling from the first book. And suddenly by the end, everything happened super fast. Once again, it probably was on purpose, making the entire book built up until the end, but it felt off to me.
So overall, this is a great series, and I think it is definitely worth reading, and I am going to pick up the last book eventually, but when I am in the mood for it.
