Décrocher le premier tôle dans un film grand public a rendu extatique sont agent, son père et sa belle-mère, et aurait du la rendre tout aussi folle de joie. Le problème ? Emma ressent un besoin de plus en plus pressant d'être normale, et avoir le premier rôle féminin face au super canon Reid Alexander dans une adaptation modernisée et un peu bête de son livre préféré ne risque pas de satisfaire ce besoin. Graham Douglas n'a pas peur de jouer le rôle d'un nerd un peu andouille; quand il doit choisir un rôle, si c'est payé, il le fait. En plus, son amie Brooke Cameron a décroché le rôle de la jolie garce du film et aura bien besoin de son soutien puisque la star du film se trouve être son ex. Graham n'a aucun problème à gérer la situation, jusqu'à ce qu'il soit attiré par la co-star de Reid : Emma. Emma que Reid pourchasse en sortant l'artillerie lourde avec son charme, son physique ravageur et son arrogance.
